When Jay-Z was 12 years old, tragedy struck in his family. Despite escaping jail time, Jay-Z couldn’t escape the guilt of failing his brother. So, when Kanye West stepped on to the rap scene, Jay-Z saw a second chance to be a good brother to Kanye. But it all went downhill fast. 

Kanye West Documentary Bought by Netflix

According to reports, Netflix has purchased the rights to a new Kanye West documentary film that is 21-years in the making. 

Directors Clarence “Coodie” Simmons and Chike Ozah compiled archival footage spanning Ye's 20+ year career and will feature never-before-seen footage of Kanye West from the '90s. It's reported that the film was sold to the streaming giant for $30 million. 

Coodie and Chike have worked with Kanye West for quite a while and directed some of his earlier videos, namely a version of "Jesus Walks" and they helped co-direct "Through the Wire." 

The title of the project has not been disclosed, but Billboard reports it will debut later this year.

Kim Kardashian Talks Kanye West and Drake Affair

 

The widely publicized breakup between Kanye West and Kim Kardashian unfolded dramatically in 2022. Media attention regarding the former power couple only intensified when Kanye started dating Julia Fox, and Kim K went public about her romantic ties to SNL alumni Pete Davidson. Kim K filed for divorce from Kanye in February of 2021; the split was made official on November 29, 2022, resulting in the latter being ordered to pay the mother of his four children $200,000 per month in child support.

Kanye West's seemingly imminent divorce from Kim Kardashian West isn't the only legal trouble the rapper and designer is facing. 

British tabloids The Sun and the Daily Mail reported (per Page Six) that Kanye's facing class action suits related to his Sunday Services and other performances. The suits were reportedly filed in Los Angeles last year and revolve around hundreds of performers and production staff who detail long delays in payment, unexpected cuts in those payments and mistreatment on the job.
