Lawsuit Dismissed Against Jay-Z & Meek Mill

 

Jay-Z and Meek Mill have reportedly settled a lawsuit with a Philadelphia police officer who sued both of them along with Roc Nation after a depiction of her in the 2019 Amazon original doc ‘Free Meek.’

The documentary spoke on Meek’s incarceration, and how the rapper shifted his focus on calling out the injustices of the U.S. prison system and criminal justice system in Philadelphia. Crooked police officers in Philly were highlighted as well, but it was revealed that one of the officers—Saqueta Williams, was reportedly proven to be innocent of any wrongdoing as a cop. Williams ultimately sued Roc Nation, Jay-Z, and Meek for invasion of privacy and defamation as a result after she was labeled as a crooked police officer.

Joe Budden vs Meek Mill

Joe Budden sent out a tweet aimed at Meek Mill regarding something he said about the rapper last summer. Budden simply wrote “I’m not off ‘barbs get him’…F*** Meek” earlier today, responding to a tweet sent by the Philly rapper last year where told his girlfriend’s followers to get at him. The conflict erupted when Joe mocked Meek Mill being in love with Nicki Minaj. “Meek’s music is too hard for me to look at him with this f***ing sappy f**k sh*t,” said Budden on his podcast last year.

He clarified his statement to Hot 97 later that month during an interview with Hot 97. “This is what happens on podcasts,” he said. “You half-heartedly speak on things that might be a hot topic, right? So, the awards came on and the camera guy just showed a lot of shots of Meek blissfully smiling in love. I thought that was interesting. I thought it was funny. It was funny to me. So we joked about it on the podcast.”

Las Vegas Hotel Caught Refusing Entry to Rapper Meek Mill

In order to keep the number of black people down at their hotel, Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada refused entry to rapper Meek Mills.

The video shows a hotel security guard telling Mill he has to leave the premises, without providing a reason as to why.

The hotel's response to the incident still did not provide a reason for Mill's ban. “As a matter of company policy, we do not comment on legal matters,” the hotel said in a statement. “Our guests' safety and security always remains our top priority.” An attorney for Mill has threatened legal action unless the hotel “promptly” apologizes and grants Mill access.

Meek Mill Announces New Album

Meek Mill isn’t done winning. According to the Dreamchasers boss, fans can now expect a deluxe version his latest album, Wins & Losses. The deluxe version Wins & Losses is set to feature “Save Me” and “Left Hollywood,” two songs that dropped as part Mill’s Meekend Music and Meekend Music II EPs earlier this year.

Meek Mill Sued

The incident occurred after a concert back in late December 2016 when two men were shot and killed outside of a Meek Mill concert at theOakdale Theater, which is near New Haven. At the time, Meek maintained that he was not involved in the shooting.

Lawyers for Ward’s family as well as Nathan Mitchell, who was shot that night but survived his injuries, filed a lawsuit Tuesday (May 22) in Waterbury Superior Court. Meek Mill and the theater have been accused of negligence and misconduct for allegedly poor security.

The amount in damages being sought have yet to be disclosed. Sounds like Meek is involved in this struggle because of the size of his bank account considering that security is on the venue, not the artist on stage.

As for inciting violence via his lyrics, we’re going to assume those who came to the show voluntarily weren’t trying to hear “All Eyes On You,” featuring Nicki Minaj, repeatedly.

Meek Mill Charged With Assault

Meek Mill landed himself in some trouble while traveling to Miami from the St. Louis Airport, where he got into an altercation with an airport employee. According to TMZ, the employee wanted a photo with Meek, but he wasn't having it. The interaction between the men led to an altercation, and Meek and two airport employees were charged with a misdemeanor assault.

Meek was given a summons to appear in court but was not arrested after the incident. Meek is currently on probation for a weapons and drug conviction, although it's unclear if this would be considered a violation of his probation.

Rumors are that rapper +Meek Mill and +Nicki Minaj is more than friends. According to E! News, the ring is a 15-carat yellow heart diamond mounted in platinum with a double halo of white pavé diamonds, which retails for a whopping $500,000. 

Nicki took to Instagram to post a photo of her hand with a massive heart-shaped ring on it with the caption of a series of heart, ring, and diamond emojis.

Meek Mill Facing Prison Time

Meek Mill is going to court on Monday, November 6, to find out if he'll be disciplined for two recent arrests that could result in probation violations. The 30-year old Philadelphia rapper, born Robert Williams, was picked up at a St. Louis airport in March for an alleged fight. In August he was arrested in New York City, accused of reckless driving.

In February of 2016, Common Pleas Judge Genece Brinkley, sentenced Meek to 90 days house arrest and extended his probation by six years for leaving Philadelphia on several occasions without notifying his probation officer.

If Brinkley determines that the "House Party" hit maker has violated his probation again, she could impose a sentence of up to 20 months in prison, according to TMZ.

Meek Mill Sentenced To 2-4 Years In Prison

The 30-year old rapper, born Robert Williams, appeared before Brinkley in a Philadelphia courtroom, where she imposed a 2-4 year prison sentence. Common Pleas Judge Genece Brinkley, came down hard on Meek Mill Monday, November 6, after determining he violated his probation by getting arrested twice earlier this year.

The decision came down following Meek's March arrest in St. Louis for an alleged fight at an airport, and an August arrest in New York City, where he was accused of reckless driving. Both cases were later dropped, but Brinkley still decided that the "House Party" hit maker violated his probation, stemming from a 2009 drug and gun conviction.
