Who Was King Von?

King Von was born in the Parkway Gardens neighborhood of Chicago in 1994, and though he retreated to Atlanta to find peace and escape his hometown, his trouble with the law never truly escaped him. Many of his most popular songs paid tribute to Chicago; he was best known as a chronicler of street life, building narratives of tense nights on the streets and his desire to escape the gangster's mentality.

Lil Wayne Shares His Top Five Rappers

Lil Wayne, whose list is quite a doozy, containing both the expected picks and some left-field surprises that actually make sense when you consider his own unique approach to the art of rap. Wayne gave his answer in a special edition of What’s Wright? With Nick Wright, a podcast version of the Fox Sports personality’s popular show.

Almost as well known for his affinity for hip-hop as Wayne is for his sports referencing raps, Wright offers his own list (a pretty humdrum collection including the usual picks: Jay-Z, Tupac, Wayne himself, Kanye West, and T.I.), which Wayne says he respects. Then Wayne starts off his own list with a pick that far too few people include for my taste, Missy Elliott. Vindication!

New York City was buzzing with infectious energy weeks before the marquee event, with supporters on both sides making their claims on who would come out on top. Key Moments In Hip-Hop History

Hip hop is more than music; it’s a cultural movement that incorporates different elements of art. Before there was Lil Yachty, Young M.I.A., or YNW Melly, there was a world of hip hop artist who's name rain supreme even still today.

Back when music was real, artist had the opportunity to shine in their own distinctive way. Rap is one of the most distinctive features of hip-hop. Rappers use rhythm, lyrics, and vocal tone to express themselves. The best rappers are distinguished by their “flow” – the way the words run together without the performer getting tongue-tied.

How Jay-Z created a hip-hop path to luxury

This past Monday, rapper Jay-Z unveiled a deal with LVMH to expand his Armand de Brignac champagne globally. The next day, Oatly, the Swedish vegan-milk group in which he has invested, took its first step towards a $10bn initial public offering.

Jay-Z has further tasks to occupy him, apart from his own music. He still heads Roc Nation, a music and sports talent agency that includes Rihanna among its clients. He is also “chief visionary officer” of a special-purpose company backed by Roc Nation that acquired two Californian cannabis groups in November. And so on.

Rihanna Says She Just Wants to 'Have Fun With Music'

It’s been four years since Rihanna released an album but the singer is working hard on recording new music. The pop star, 32, told The Associated Press for her new album she’s already held “tons of writing camps” — where songwriters are put into groups to create original tracks for artists. Now, she said she’s asked herself the questions: “What do I feel personally? What do I want to put out, and as an artist, how do I want to play it with my art? How do I want to interpret that?”

“How do I want to reimagine it because it’s been so structured before,” Rihanna continued in a recent interview. The multi-genre artist who has won Grammys in the R&B, dance and rap categories added: “You do pop, you did this genre, you do that, you do radio, but now it’s just like, what makes me happy? I just want to have fun with music. Everything is so heavy. The world that we live in is a lot. It’s overwhelming every single day. And with the music, I’m using that as my outlet.”

What Happened To The Fugees?

Some of the most painful feuds emerge from once-close relationships, including the bitter dispute that led to the breakup of The Fugees, one of the greatest artistic collaborations of the past several decades. The group's second album, The Score, was a massive hit, a timeless masterpiece that straddled the borders between rap, hip-hop, R&B, and rock.

A third album never arrived. Lauryn Hill temporarily left the group before The Score's 1996 release, most likely due to her turbulent romantic relationship with bandmate Wyclef Jean, who was married. The next year, Hill started seeing Bob Marley's son, Rohan. She became pregnant and, according to Jean's memoir, lied to him about the child's paternity.

The Evolution Of Gangster Rap

Gangsta rap or Gangster rap is a style of hip hop characterized by themes and lyrics that generally emphasize the "gangsta" lifestyle. The genre evolved from hard rap into a distinct form, pioneered in the mid-1980s by rappers such as Schoolly D and Ice-T, and was popularized in the later part of the 1980s by groups like N.W.A.

Has Rock-N-Roll Always Been Apart Of Hip-Hop Culture?

Yes Hip Hop has always been apart of the Rock culture! Rock and Rap song were some of the best ever made still today! For an institution that is dedicated to immortalizing rock and roll’s greatest heroes, there are many inductees in there who are not quite typically thought of as rock artists.

You’ve got Grandmaster Flash, Run-DMC, Miles Davis, Madonna, and Tupac in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The confusion behind these inductees lies not with the quality of their work, but rather the categorization of it.

There are four other artists who have been nominated but have yet to be inducted—Afrika Bambaataa, LL Cool J, Eric B. and Rakim, N.W.A—and four more groups who have been considered for the ballot but who have not yet been nominated—Boogie Down Productions, De La Soul, the Sugarhill Gang, and the Treacherous Three.

What Happened To Three 6 Mafia?

One of the greatest rap groups of all times will remain legendary until the end of time. Three 6 Mafia is an American hip hop group formed in 1991 from Memphis, Tennessee. Their music has been variously described as Southern hip hop, Crunk, hardcore rap, horrorcore and gangsta rap.

Founded by Juicy J, Lord Infamous and DJ Paul back in 1991, they started their music career as Backyard Posse prior to settling on their current name. Through their own record company, Prophet Entertainment, they eventually started to record and release a number of extended-plays during their initial years together.

One of the most popular hip hop groups of their time, they’ve won several awards throughout their years together. In 2006, Three 6 Mafia was awarded an Oscar for “Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures” for their hit single, It’s Hard Out Here for a Pump, which was used as the theme song for the indie film, Hustle & Flow (2005).

Looking at their discography, one would notice that their last album release was that of Watch What U Wish… back in 2015ーwhere is the hip hop group now? On October 9, 2015, Koopsta Knicca unexpectedly died from a brain aneurysm, making him the second member of Three 6 Mafia to pass away (the first being Lord Infamous, a founding member who passed away in 2013 from a heart attack).

Fans of Memphis' Three 6 Mafia were undoubtedly excited back in 2013 when DJ Paul announced that five of the original six members would be reuniting for a series of new releases. Despite this back to basics approach, many fans were disappointed to hear that Juicy J would no longer be appearing as an official member of the crew.

In a HHDX exclusive interview, Three 6 Mafia's DJ Paul addressed his colleague's claims regarding why Juicy is no longer working with the group.

"I got a lot of love for Pat and always will--we made a lot of hits together," DJ Paul began. "You know, [Pat’s] 'Don’t Save Her,' I wrote and produced it for him. It’s my voice on the hook. Me and Juicy produced Mista Don’t Play [Everythangs Workin] with him, every single project--all his albums. Every single Project Pat album cover, I physically hand-drew and designed myself. Every single one, from Ghetty Green to Layin Da Smack Down to Mista Don’t Play--all of them. I was the one on the phone with Pen & Pixel at my mother’s house, using the fax machine, faxing hand-drawn pictures to them. So, whatever. The whole thing’s just funny and I don’t know where none of it come from.”

Despite their different paths, Paul maintains that he and Juicy remain good friends.

Why They Hating

Kind of like the photo say above, "before you ask someone why they hate you, ask your why should you even care." Some people hate each other because they grow up feeling insecure, "small" and vulnerable, whether because of parenting, poverty, 'karma', or randomness. Yes people do hate other people..Even though this is wrong.

There was a recent problem with me at work selling movies on the job, so someone took it upon themselves to tell the front office on me. After that, I find out there selling movies now too. Like really, how small do you get.

To be honest... people don't hate each other for no reason. Some would say, "we don't hate each other, It is just that we have been misunderstood by each other."  I never really get why people dislike each other so much. Yet people in the past have done things to hurt me but its not like I hate them.

There are more that ten rap groups in the city of Lima, Ohio, but none of them know how to sell their music digitally but me. So when i'm asked about it, I tell them "the game is to be sold, not to be told." It's not that i'm holding a secret back from them, its just thats my way of making my studio stand out from the rest of them.
