On May 14, 2003, Beyoncé released her song “Crazy In Love,” featuring rapper Jay-Z, into the world. Though this was her first lead single as a solo artist, the track did not disappoint in the slightest as it went on to top the global music charts. While “Crazy In Love” solidified Beyoncé’s spot in the music industry, it also put her budding relationship with Jay-Z on everyone’s radar. #Throwback #MusicVideo Nelly, Kelly Rowland - Dilemma

Featuring Kelly Rowland from Destiny's Child, this song is about a girl who thinks about another guy even when she's with her boyfriend. Nelly and Kelly act this out in the video, but also in the song, as they sing to each other by name.

This was the first big release for Kelly Rowland away from her group, Destiny's Child. Nelly was an established star and hot on the charts, but Rowland was not widely known on her own. This was a good way to introduce her as a solo artist and get her ready for her first album.

The song depicts the declaration of forbidden love by a female lover in a committed relationship, and the predicament the male protagonist must face. Once Nellyville was released in the United States on June 25, 2002, radio programmers started playing "Dilemma". By July 2002, the track had reached the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100 based on airplay alone.

Understand Whitney Houston And Dolly Parton Hit Song "I Will Always Love You"

Most fans of Whitney Houston today never knew she was connected to country music singer Dolly Parton. Dolly Parton and Whitney Houston will undoubtedly remain connected through their smash hit song “I Will Always Love You.”

"I Will Always Love You" was the second of five consecutive #1 Country hits that Parton had after establishing herself as a solo artist. Parton later recorded a second version of this song for the 1982 film The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas, which she starred in along with Burt Reynolds. The second version not only became a #1 Country hit (like the first version), but also became a crossover hit, reaching #53 on the Hot 100.

When this song was chosen for the 1992 film The Bodyguard, it proved to be a huge benefit for both Parton and Whitney Houston. For Houston, it provided her signature song, showcasing her otherworldly talents as a singer. Her version became a worldwide success in pop music, earning huge royalties for both artists. Dolly Parton's country ballad was now familiar to audiences of pop, soul, and adult contemporary.

Understanding Destiny's Child's "Survivor"

Beyonce was not the first member to leave the famed girl duo group Destiny's Child which left fans asking "Was Survivor a Diss" to former members of the group?

Back in 2002, MTV reported Destiny's Child settled out of court with two former members LeToya Luckett and Latavia Roberson who claim they were dissed in the hit song "Survivor."

That agreement came with the 2001 release of the song "Survivor," which included the lines, "You thought that I'd be stressed without you/ But I'm chillin'/ You thought that I wouldn't sell without you/ Sold 9 million."
