Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez to perform at Biden swearing-in

Pop artists Jennifer Lopez and Lady Gaga will be among A-listers who will perform at the largely-virtual swearing-in ceremony of Joe Biden as the 46th President of the United States on January 20.

Gaga, one-of-a-kind artist, performer and a trailblazer in beauty and fashion, will sing the national anthem and Lopez will give a musical performance on the West Front of the US Capitol, where the ceremony will be taking place.

Biden, 78, and Kamala Harris, 56, will be sworn in as President and Vice President of the United States during the ceremony.

But it won't be a typical inauguration, for several reasons.

The ongoing coronavirus pandemic and fresh security concerns following a pro-Trump mob breaching the Capitol last week have combined to force some changes to what is a historical American day.

President Obama Covers OUT Magazine

The president is listed in the magazine’s annual list of the 100 most influential people in the LGBT community. Obama became the first sitting president to grace the cover of an LGBT publication. He was named OUT magazine’s ‘Ally of the Year.’

“This is the first time a sitting president has been photographed for the cover of an LGBT title,” wrote editor-in-chief Aaron Hicklin, “a historic moment in itself, and a statement on how much his administration has done to advance a singularly volatile issue that tarnished the reputations of both President Clinton and President Bush.”

One of the reasons I got involved in politics was to help deliver on our promise that we’re all created equal, and that no one should be excluded from the American dream just because of who they are. That’s why, in the Senate, I supported repealing DOMA [the Defense of Marriage Act]. It’s why, when I ran for president the first time, I publicly asked for the support of the LGBT community, and promised that we could bring about real change for LGBT Americans.

Whats Wrong With Immigration Reform

After watching the new daily, i'm not understanding what is wrong with reforming the immigration law that is broken. The United States elected a Obama to do a job that they don't want him to complete. If the president warned republicans that he was going to use his power to make the change, why did'nt they act then to help do something to solve the ongoing problem?

I have ner heard of a president who has had some many problems with congress. President Bush crushed our economy and hurt our middle class and congress accepted that with no problems just because it seemed to be all about the war in Iraq. President Obama want to give some immigrants a chance to work and live in America while raising their families.

If I was a republican, I would be careful on how I would decide to stand, for they could loss all latino votes in the 2016 campain which may stop them from taking over the white house. Other states are getting lawyers to sue the president, while others want impeachment. As Congress debates the contours of immigration reform, many arguments have been made on economic grounds.

The 2007 Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act failed partly because it lacked a broad coalition. On the right, many Republicans were scared off by anti-immigration populists. President Obama will announce a major executive action on immigration reform in prime time.

Immigration reform is a term used in political discussion regarding changes to current immigration policy of a country. This is a step forward in the President's plan to work with Congress on passing what some say is common-sense reform.

Would Obama Have Beaten Trump?

Fair Game Is That, Donald is a straight up kind of guy, He speaks strait out of his mind without thinking. Look at the picture above, it tells a'lot. For Trump, Obama was to look him in the eye during the shake, to Donald, since he did not, Trump wish's he would have ran against Obama instead of Romney.

In an interview with David Axelrod released yesterday, December 26th, President Obama claimed that he would have defeated Donald Trump had he been allowed to run for a third term. "I'm confident that if I — if I had run again and articulated it, I think I could've mobilized a majority of the American people to rally behind it," Mr. Obama said.

President-elect responded on Twitter with a firm denial that Obama could have beaten him.

It's an interesting debate: President Obama won the popular vote in both the 2008 and 2012 election, while Donald Trump won the presidency in 2016 but did not defeat Hillary Clinton in the popular vote.

Obama stressed his admiration for Clinton and said she had been the victim of unfair attacks. But, as he has in other exit interviews, he insisted that her defeat was not a rejection of the eight years of his presidency. To the contrary, he argued that he had put together a winning coalition that stretched across the country but that the Democratic Party and the Clinton campaign had failed to follow through on it.
"Look, the Affordable Care Act benefits a huge number of Trump voters. There are a lot of folks in places like West Virginia or Kentucky who didn't vote for Hillary, didn't vote for me, but are being helped by this . . . The problem is, is that we're not there on the ground communicating not only the dry policy aspects of this, but that we care about these communities, that we're bleeding for these communities."

Nonetheless, the president, who has done relatively few interviews with mainstream media organisations, repeated his long-stated complaint that the media has filtered his message and that he is subject to unfair criticism by outlets such as Fox News.
Donald Trump responded to Barack Obama on Monday after the president claimed he could have won a third term in the White House if he had been the Democratic nominee instead of Hillary Clinton.

"President Obama said that he thinks he would have won against me," the president-elect tweeted. "He should say that but I say NO WAY! - jobs leaving, ISIS, OCare, etc."

Donald Trump’s Lawyer Snaps On Snoop Dogg

Snoop Dogg is receiving some backlash for his controversial video, in which he shoots a Donald Trump look-alike.

Snoop Dogg’s video for “Lavender” featuring Kaytranadaha, been drawing the wrath of a variety Republicans, since it was released on March 12.

Snoop’s “Lavender” video features the rapper caught in a world of evil clowns, which features President Trump as the main protagonist.

Towards the end, Snoop grabs a fake gun and shoots the POTUS, who also smokes some bud in the video.

Donald Trump’s personal lawyer Michael Cohen took aim at Snoop Dogg over the clip, while expressing disappointment in the rap star.

“It’s totally disgraceful, Snoop owes the president and apology. There’s absolutely nothing funny about an assassination attempt on the President,” President Trump’s lawyer Michael Cohen said.

Snoop and Trump were somewhat friendly in past years, before Trump launched his campaign and captured the White House last year.

Snoop infamously roasted the billionaire real estate mogul/reality show star for Comedy Central March of 2011, however, it looks like their friendship has certainly cooled off.

“This motherf##ker (Trump) tried to put up; him winning the presidency; police being able to kill motherf##kers and get away with it; people being in jail for weed for 20, 30 years and motherf**kers that’s not black on the streets making money off of it – but if you got color or ethnicity connected to your name, you’ve been wrongfully accused or locked up for it, and then you watching people not of color position themselves to get millions and billions off of it,” Snoop Dogg told Billboard.

Michael Cohen said there was a double standard, had anybody and had any popular musician put out such a video about President Obama, the condemnation would have come much faster.

“I would not have accepted it if it were President Obama I certainly do not accept it as President Trump,” Cohen said.

Cohen told Snoop he needed to take some notes from NFL legend Jim Brown, who decided to work closely with Trump instead of opposing the administration.

Michael Cohen joins a growing number of Trump supporters, like Senator Marco Rubio, an admitted hip-hop fan who condemned Snoop’s “Lavender” video.

Some hip-hop artists came out and supported Snoop’s video, like veterans Treach and Ice T, who had his own problems with the government over his “Cop Killer” track with Body Count in 1991.

However, Trump’s lawyer did not see the point of the video.

“I’m not really sure I understand the artistic value having someone dressed up as Trump and firing a weapon at him,” Michael Cohen stated.

According to reports, the Secret Service is looking into the “Lavender” video.

Obama Ranked As The 12th Greatest President

The results of a survey compiling the input of 91 presidential historians, places Barack Obama as the 12th greatest U.S. President, C-SPAN reports.

Obama took office as the nation's 44th President in 2009. At 47-years-old he was the 5th youngest man to ever become Commander-In-Chief, and although his experience in government was not as expansive as many who had held the job before him, his strong conviction, communication and organizing skills helped him lead through two terms in Washington. No President has been as highly recognized by C-SPAN's panel of historians as Obama has since Ronald Reagan, who is slotted at number 9 in the new survey.

Among the attributes Obama scored highly for were his pursuit of equality, management of the economy, public persuasion and moral authority. “That Obama came in at number 12 his first time out is quite impressive," said survey shepherd Douglas Brinkley of Rice University.

Coming in at #1 is Abraham Lincoln, who regularly tops the list. He is recognized of course for abolishing slavery, ordering the building of the Transcontinental Railroad, and saving the Union after the Civil War. The Presidents universally regarded among historians as the "big three" remains unchanged, with George Washington following Lincoln, and FDR coming in at third. Founding Father Thomas Jefferson makes the top 10, but was beat out by Theodore Roosevelt (4), Dwight Eisenhower (5) and Harry Truman (6), having been placed as the 7th greatest President. The top 10 rounds out with JFK (8) coming between Jefferson and Reagan, and Lyndon B. Johnson being named the 10th greatest.

“Today I took a series of actions I believe will return the Lakers to the heights Dr. Jerry Buss demanded and our fans rightly expect,” team governor Jeanie Buss said in a statement. “Effective immediately, Earvin Johnson will be in charge of all basketball operations and will report directly to me. Jeanie Buss is Jim Buss’ sister, and both took on greater responsibility after the death of their father in February 2013.

Johnson was drafted by the Lakers in 1979 and won five titles with the team. He was hired as an adviser to the team in February. Johnson has held titles with the Lakers in the past, including honorary vice president, which he resigned from in June. He has also previously owned shares in the team, which he sold to Dr. Patrick Soon Shiong in 2011.

“It’s a dream come true to return to the Lakers as President of Basketball Operations working closely with Jeanie Buss and the Buss family,” Johnson said in the statement. “Since 1979, I’ve been a part of the Laker Nation and I’m passionate about this organization. I will do everything I can to build a winning culture on and off the court. We have a great coach in Luke Walton and good young players. Throughout his time in office, while working on serious strategies to help the United States continue to move forward, President Obama has also managed to keep his finger on the pulse of pop culture. Ranging from sports knowledge to music knowledge, Obama always seems to have pretty great taste.

Barack Obama Talks Donald Trump Publicly For First Time

Barack Obama
President Barack Obama is making his return to the political arena to help embattled Democrats win in November’s midterm elections. And for the first time, Obama publicly called out President Donald Trump by name.

During a speech at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign on Friday, Obama said the country is in a “backlash” moment.

While Obama has in the past blasted Trump and his policies, this was the first speech in which he used his successor’s name.

Obama also addressed Trump’s tone-deaf comments last year, when the president claimed that there were “some very fine people on both sides” during the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, that saw white supremacists squaring off against anti-racism protesters. Paralegal Heather Heyer, 32, was killed during the protest when a white supremacist struck her with his car.

The former president also applauded the women who have taken a stand in the Me Too movement, and the teens of Parkland, Florida, who are standing up to gun violence and the National Rifle Association. That’s how real change starts, Obama said. But nothing will get done if this generation doesn’t vote, he added.

Muhammadu Buhari Talks Nigeria's Poverty Level

President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday night lamented the high level of poverty pervading in the country at the moment, saying that the situation makes him uncomfortable.

President Bush vs Obama War Tactics

All members and staff of The Wrap-Up Magazine had to discuss the tactics that President George W. Bush had to take vs Barack Obama. Although there may have been water gating in Guantanamo Bay detention camp, it was tactics that were needed to catch a criminal that could not be caught. Six men released from Guantanamo Bay arrive in Uruguay, all i'm saying is why? They should not close down the prison but get ready for more prisoners out of ISIS.
