During an interview with Akademiks, DJ Vlad revealed a behind-the-scenes story about why Drake never appeared in the music video for Migos' hit single "Versace." According to Vlad, Birdman, who was managing Drake under Young Money at the time, requested Migos sign with Birdman's label for Drake to do the video.
When Migos’ manager, Coach K, declined the offer, Birdman pulled the video participation. Further, it was disclosed that Birdman had a reputation for charging significant fees, up to half a million dollars, for artists to work with Drake or Lil Wayne. Additionally, Vlad mentioned that Drake often attached his features to his own label, OVO, to avoid such charges.
