Cross Colours became a cultural phenomenon in the early ‘90s. The company sought to break down racial barriers one brightly piece of clothing at a time. But after a few years, Cross Colours lost appeal and faded into obscurity.
Cross Colours pushes the message, "Clothing Without Prejudice", a slogan that appears on every garment. Since they were primarily targeting African-American youth they wanted to inspire them with positive messages like "Stop D Violence" and "Educate 2 Elevate".
Cross Colours is a product of Black culture. That's what keeps us inspired. What does it mean to be a Black-owned business, especially when the Black Lives Matter movement is getting so much attention?
World Wide Technology is the largest Black-owned business with $17 billion in annual revenue. Black or African American women own an estimated 58,974 businesses with at least one employee, employing 481,930 employees.
