Thomas Jacob Hilfiger is an American fashion designer and the founder of Tommy Hilfiger Corporation. After starting his career by co-founding a chain of jeans/fashion stores called People's Place in upstate New York in the 1970s, he began designing preppy clothing for his own eponymous menswear line.
Tommy Hilfiger told his people to “push the envelope.” They wanted to be first in every trend. In 1969, when he was just 17 years old, Hilfiger forged his first sartorial venture when he opened a small store.
Fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger has built his brand, using his signature red, white and blue tag, which has become popular among the hip-hop nation.
