Originally launched 27 years ago in 1996, the Tank Française timepiece by Cartier was a diversion from its classical Tank watch. With elongated case sides and square dial, the Tank Francaise boasted an integrated metal bracelet that endowed it with seamless beauty, and it fast became a much-sought-after new Cartier Tank.
Curved and ergonomically inviting, the new Cartier Tank Francaise bracelet versions boast subtle changes that yield a harmoniously inviting appeal. At a glance, one may not notice this, but it is evident the minute the watch rests against the wrist. Cartier has always been about design first and foremost, but also about ergonomics and comfort.
To launch the new Tank Francaise, Cartier has created a special video campaign that enlists Catherine Deneuve and American actor Rami Malek and transcends generations, nations and personalities.
The first Cartier Tank watch was unveiled to the world more than 100 years ago in 1917. It was designed by Louis Cartier who had a passion for pure shapes and was inspired by the Army tanks of the era.
