Blue Ivy Earns First Two Gold-Certified Singles

JAY-Z and Beyoncé’s eldest daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, is now a certified gold plaque recipient, according to the RIAA.

Blue Ivy Carter, 10, picked up her first-ever gold plaques from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for her contributions to Beyoncé’s “Blue” from her 2013 self-titled album Beyoncé and the song “Brown Skin Girl,” which appears on 2019’s The Lion King: The Gift.

With over 500,000 units sold, both songs have earned gold certification.

Last year, she won a Grammy for “Brown Skin Girl,” becoming the second youngest Grammy Award winner. CNN reports that she won Best Music Video for her role in her mother’s visual for the song.

The young Grammy Award winner has always been a part of her parents’ music, even at two days old.

JAY-Z credited his then-newborn baby on his 2012 track “Glory,” making her the youngest person to chart on the Billboard Hot 100.
