Kanye and Drake reunite on stage for a good cause.
On Thursday night (Dec. 9), the two hip hop stars came together in front of a sold-out crowd at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum for a benefit concert for imprisoned and former gang leader Larry Hoover. The show was streamed live on Amazon Prime Video and Twitch as well as in select IMAX theaters.
Kanye West’s Sunday Service choir kicked off the two-hour show before Ye brought back the “old Kanye” performing hits from “Jesus Walks” to “Flashing Lights” and “Can’t Tell Me Nothing”, among others.
Drake followed suite and joined his idol on stage with the evening’s second act. Drizzy included his Certified Lover Boy including “Girls Want Girls”, “Way 2 Sexy”, “Knife Talk”, and “Life Is Good” which he dedicated to late fashion designer icon Virgil Abloh. The former foes closed out the celebratory night with their 2009 collaboration “Forever”.
Last month, Kanye and Drake made amends following years of tumoil and reunited in Toronto after Ye invited Drizzy to share the stage with him per Larry Hoover and Rap-A-Lot Records founder J Prince’s request.
