Along with being a chart-topping artist, Yo Gotti pushed into the business world, closing what appears to be a massive deal with DC United. Reports surfaced noting the rapper is now co-owner of the D.C. United soccer team.
Gotti issued a statement on his new co-ownership, saying, “I was introduced to the game by my son and watched how quickly it has grown in our country, so I’m honored to join the D.C. United ownership group.”
He continued by saying, “I’ve long admired Jason Levien and Steve Kaplan’s ambition and entrepreneurship and look forward to collaborating with them – and the entire ownership group – to further elevate D.C. United’s commitment to connecting soccer, entertainment, community, and culture. Together, we’re going to enhance fan experience and bring new and exciting events to Audi Field." Kaplan and Levien are two billionaires who are on the ownership team for D.C. United.
This isn’t the first money move the rapper made this year, as he purchased a California estate for $7.6 million, which was $100,000 over the asking price.
