Why Did No Limit Records Breakup?

In 2004, the reorganized label had moved to Koch Records for distribution. From 2004 to 2005, The New No Limit Records issued new albums by Master P, Silkk the Shocker, C-Murder, Lil' Romeo and the reformed TRU.

These are just a few events that happened during the rise of No Limit Records. Percy “Master P” Miller had one of the most historic runs in Hip-Hop with his No Limit Records enterprise. Beginning in the early 1990s.

In 1999, Kane & Abel left from No Limit Records and started their own label entitled, Most Wanted Empire, later securing a new label deal with Elektra Records. On September 21, 1999, Kane & Abel released their fourth album, Rise to Power.

Impressed by her performance, the No Limit group invited Mercedes to join them in the studio, the timing was right. After releasing the album, Mercedes reportedly retired from the music business less than a year later to attend law school.

Awood “Mr. Magic” Johnson, a rapper best known for his work in the 90's on the No Limit Records label, has died. Johnson, 37, and his wife of 13 years, Chastity, were killed in a fatal car crash Friday, March 1, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

Romeo Miller has become the president of the relaunched No Limit Records. Master P's iconic label No Limit Records is set to be relaunched more than two decades after the hip-hop label was established - under the guidance of the rap legend's 21-year-old son Romeo.

No Limit Records, the label run by Master P, one of hip-hop's most successful self-made executives, rappers and filmmakers, also signed Snoop Doggy Dogg to the label. In addition, popular artists such as Mystikal and Magic had left and would put out albums.

The No Limit founder was a major player in the thriving US rap scene of the '90s – thanks to the global success of the label he started out of the boot of his car. At various points, No Limit's roster included the likes of Snoop Dogg, TRU, Mia X and Mystikal, as well as Master P himself.
