The Super Bowl Halftime Show Will Mean More Music, Less Football!

This year will make history for the NFL Super Bowl Halftime Show. The ringing of the latin community has been heard loud and clear as they prepare to set stage for what is said to be the biggest event in history.

Shakira will open the Pepsi halftime show, performing hits including “Hips Don’t Lie” and “Whenever, Wherever.” She’ll then be joined on stage by Bad Bunny for “I Like It Like That”.

Following Shakira’s approximately six minute set, Lopez will take the stage and perform songs including “Waiting For Tonight,” plus a mash-up of songs including “Love Don’t Cost A Thing” and “Mi Gente” with J Balvin.

The Super Bowl halftime source added the themes of the show include female empowerment – the set at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium is based on the female symbol – the American dream, diversity – with a gospel choir singing “America The Beautiful” – and redemption – Demi Lovato will perform the National Anthem following her recovery.

Bad Bunny has just released a new song “6 Rings”, an emotional salute to Kobe Bryant. The two minute track ends with a recording of Bryant himself, saying, “From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Jennifer Lopez and Shakira will be joined on stage at the Super Bowl halftime show by reggaeton superstars J Balvin and Bad Bunny – plus J-Lo’s 11-year-old daughter Emme.

The Super Bowl, including the halftime show, will be televised on Fox and live streamed on the Fox Sports app. The app can be accessed on mobile devices or downloaded onto multiple streaming devices, such as Amazon's Fire TV, Apple TV and smart televisions.

Pepsi and the NFL said in a statement that they collaborated with Roc Nation to bring Shakira and Lopez together for what will be an "unforgettable performance on the world's biggest stage."

You don’t have to be a football fanatic to be excited for Super Bowl Sunday. Between the buzzy, viral commercials and chart-topping performers, game day has something for everybody.

In between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers’ Feb. 2 battle for the NFL championship title, two of music’s hottest artists will hit the stage together for the first time at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium.
