The $500,000 Dollar Watch

The diamond jewelry manufacturer, a division of Aaron Shum Jewelry of Hong Kong, introduced a watch at Baselworld last week set with 15,858 diamonds totaling 50.01 carats and valued at $500,000. It was inducted into the Guinness World Records.

The watch is inspired by the peony, known as the king of flowers in Asian culture, and it is set with a combination of white and champagne colored diamonds. It symbolizes nobility, honor and wealth. “Mudan” is Chinese for peony.

As an artist, Ahluwalia specializes in 3D paintings of diamonds, showing the facets and reflections of a round-brilliant cut viewed from the top, or table, side of the diamond.
