Rumors are that star +Amanda Bynes has been hospitalized and placed on a psychiatric hold. Bynes, 28, flew from New York to Los Angeles Friday and was admitted to a Pasadena hospital shortly after arriving at the airport. TMZ reports that doctors placed her on a 5150 psychiatric hold where she will be held for 72 hours.
This development comes after Bynes accused her father of sexual abuse via Twitter. After a Twitter rant that accused him of verbal and physical abuse. Bynes’ mother issued a statement to E! News through her attorney, Tamar Arminak, denying the claims.
“I am heartbroken today for my husband of 47 years,” she says. “Rick has been the best father and husband a family can ask for. He has never abused Amanda or our other children physically or sexually. These accusations are absolutely horrible and could not be further from the truth! These allegations stem from Amanda’s mental state at the moment. They have no basis in reality. It saddens me beyond belief that my husband’s character could be slandered in such a way.”
Bynes’ brother and sister, Tommy Bynes and Jillian O’Keefe, also issued a statement through Arminak, telling TMZ, “We are disturbed beyond words that Amanda would come up with such a fabrication as a way to avoid getting much needed help or treatment. … We are pained by (Amanda’s) behavior but we absolutely give our full unconditional love and support to our wonderful parents.”
The star had been embroiled in high-profile legal troubles last year, but appeared to be on a path to recovery as she attended rehab, moved in with her parents and was studying fashion design in college. But after a second DUI arrest in late September in Los Angeles, Bynes resumed her erratic behavior.
